British Board of Agrément HAPAS Audit Success

Oct 07,2019

We hold the British Board of Agrément (BBA) HAPAS certification covering our Polypropylene Homopolymer (PP-H) and High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) circular manholes and chambers and PP-H rectangular manholes and chambers.

HAPAS (Highway Authorities Product Approval Scheme) is a nationally recognised approval scheme for innovative products, materials and systems used in highways and related areas of works.

The attainment of certification is a significant achievement and was the result of a substantial investment and development programme by Fiber Glass Systems.  During the approval process our manholes and chambers were assessed for strength and stability, flow characteristics and durability. The process also involved laboratory and road tests, site inspection, performance trials and an evaluation of production.  Data generated was assessed by the BBA’s technical experts, forming the basis of our awarded certificate.

Why did we undertake this? Certification provides our customers and engineers with vital product performance, design and installation data, invaluable for project planning & product choice.

This month our thermoplastic division underwent a full audit by the British Board of Agrément to ensure the continuation of our full compliance against the strict criteria of this HAPAS certification.

The in-depth assessment covered all aspects of manufacture in relation to our certified products including fabrication, quality, process controls and staff competency.

We are delighted to announce that we passed this comprehensive evaluation with honours, receiving ZERO non-conformities or observations!

On receiving the audit results, Operations Director Jon Barr who was present throughout the audit commented;

“I would like to express my sincere thanks to all those members of staff involved during this audit, this achievement is a testament of our commitment to excellence”
