In 2012 we were officially awarded “approved training provider” status by The Engineering Construction Industry Training Board (ECITB). Following this accolade the decision was taken by Senior Management to work towards obtaining NVQ Assessment Centre certification – we are delighted to announce that after 2 years of focus, dedication and commitment we have achieved this sought after status!
On the 28th November 2013 Mr Roger Sage – ECITB Account Manager for Wales & West – visited our HQ in Plymouth to present a commemorative plaque in recognition of this accomplishment, it was accepted on behalf of the company by Adrian Kennett – Director of Specialist fabrication, he commented;
“I was delighted to receive this acknowledgement of behalf of Fiber Glass Systems, it reinforces the level of commitment and hard work shown by all involved over the last 2 years”
The ECITB is the statutory organisation, national training provider and awarding body with responsibility for the training and development of the UK’s engineering construction workforce. They work closely with Government and employers to attract, develop and qualify engineering construction personnel in hundreds of skills and disciplines.
Certified by the ECITB to a NVQ Assessment Centre allows us to have total independence to train and award NVQ qualifications internally under of the awarding body of SEMTA. Geographically we are the ONLY company that have obtained this ECITB qualification south of Bristol.
A core ethos of our business is the unrelenting commitment to ensure that our entire workforce are fully trained – but not only in their specific areas of expertise – the development and the pursuit of additional skills and qualifications is also actively encouraged and supported in all sectors of this family run business.
12 employees are currently being taking through the NVQ system, 6 on level 2 and 6 on level 3, and it is our commitment to ensure that all our employees have a minimum of NVQ level 2 or above by 2016.
