Our state of the art manufacturing facilities have now been expanded with the addition of the Skills & Innovations Centre (PXSI).
The building was officially opened by HRH the Princess Royal on the 23rd March following a facility tour hosted by senior management and a “meet and greet” session for employees and guests. To mark this prestigious occasion, Her Royal Highness unveiled a commemorative plaque and added her signature to our visitor book.
The PXSI building is designed to further develop staff training ethics, innovative skills and the advancement of pioneering project development and testing. The centre houses the fabrication of flagship projects, specialist design expertise, and cutting edge research.
Within the facility there is a specially equipped viewing area for clients to witness product testing and product fabrication, in a safe and controlled environment.
On top of the £210,000 we invested in the building works, the project was part financed by the European Union with £90,000 from the European Regional Development Fund through the Competitiveness Programme, administered by the Department for Communities and Local Government.
The European Regional Development Fund South West Competitiveness and Employment Programme 2007-2013 is managed by the Department for Communities and Local Government. The programme of investment from the European Union is helping to increase the prosperity of the region through supporting enterprise and individuals to develop ideas and plans that contribute to increased productivity and competitiveness.
The total amount of investment across the seven-year programme is £108,751,309. The Skills and Innovation Centre received funding through the Grant for Business Investment scheme which helps businesses to bring forward capital projects leading to long-term improvements in productivity, skills and employment.
